The WOM collective, an all female group of street artists, put on their first paint jam of the year in the Leake Street Tunnel. First formed in August 2019 the collective aims to support local women artists.
One of the ways of doing so is to host events such as this one. WOM collective, according to their instagram, is “dedicated to empowering HER story”. This, they say is “by providing a platform for graffiti jams, exhibitions, workshops and events that give back to female artists and local communities.”

In total around 20 artists took part with a variety of styles. We’ve featured several of the people taking part before. Artists such as Elno, Mali Mowcka, Artista, Girls on Top, Roo, Giusi Tomasello and Apparan have all appeared a number of times on Inspiring City.
It’s also been a while since we’ve got down to the Leake Street Tunnel. Yet, despite the changes in recent years, prompted by an opening up of the arches to new businesses, it still retains its edge. Not quite the grime ridden ‘Banksy Tunnel’ of old it is still a distinctive place and very much a key location in the London street art scene. Take a look at some of the pictures from the Wom Collective paint jam.
