French artist Nerone has created his largest street mural to date in the northern town of New Brighton on the Wirral. Called Belladonna it can be found on the corner of Virginia and Belmont Road. The street art mural is just the latest to be included as part of New Brighton’s open-air art gallery. In total there are now more than 25 murals to be seen in the town.
The artwork in New Brighton features Nerone’s unique and colourful psychedelic flowers. Elegantly dripping down walls onto the pavement below. His work is guaranteed to bring a splash of colour to a neighbourhood and that’s exactly what’s happened in New Brighton.

Nerone in New Brighton
Inspired by the energy and vivid atmosphere of the street from his time in Bordeaux and Paris. Nerone now lives and works in East London. His colourful and outlandish walls can now be seen in many places. These include Paris, New York, Cartagena, Bangkok, Berlin, Marrakech, Shoreditch and Seoul. Nerone’s work in New Brighton has now been added to that impressive list.

Speaking about the work, Robert Jones – Street Art Director of regeneration company Rockpoint Leisure said: “It’s been third time lucky arranging for Nerone to come and paint with us – but it’s a terrific and visual way to mark the town opening for business again after such a turbulent year… Nerone’s work ‘Belladonna’ is absolutely striking – it’s so positive and upbeat, the colours really pop against the sky. I’m sure it’ll quickly become a favourite on the tour”.
The New Brighton Street Art Tour is a free attraction within New Brighton.
