WOM Collective Women’s Day Paint Jam Murals 2026

Marking International Women’s Day 2026, the WOM Collective returned to Shoreditch with another gathering of female street artists. Once again the aim was to bring colour and creativity to the walls of Allen Gardens. Transforming the well-known painting spot into a vibrant celebration of women in street art.

The event, known as WOM Inspired 26, continues what has now become something of a yearly tradition. One that takes place on or around International Women’s Day. An open call invited artists from across the UK to take part. The response was strong, with painters traveling in from different regions to contribute to take part.

Allen Gardens has long been a popular location for street artists and frequently hosts paint jams. The artwork here is often short-lived, but that’s part of the appeal. The walls are constantly changing. Offering artists the chance to experiment and leave their mark, even if only for a brief moment.

  1. It’s great to see how this event keeps building a space for female street artists year after year. The energy of paint jams like this always comes through, especially in places like Allen Gardens where the walls are constantly evolving.

I like how you highlight that temporary nature of the work. It makes the whole thing feel more alive, less about permanence and more about presence, experimentation and community.

Also, bringing together so many different styles in one session really shows the diversity within the scene. It’s not just about representation, but about creating a platform where artists can push their work in a shared environment.
