Headliners

Dale Grimshaw (UK) – Otium, Carlton Street

A portrait blending striking portraiture with nature and graffiti inspired elements. Dale Grimshaw is known for his work which often feature people from the indigenous cultures of the Pacific. He will blend his paintings with other elements to create striking compositions. Here the use of figs, leaves and graffiti swirls surround the portrait. The result is a Green Man inspired work. One that blends nature with the people that live in harmony with nature itself.

Speaking on her instagram she explains how repainting has allowed her to reflect on that original concept. Saying how she felt the “complete freedom to tweak and play” with that initial idea. Adding that it also brings a whole new meaning to the term “wavy hair”.

Shauna (Ireland) – 14 Baker Street

‘Guinevere Claims Her Own Heart’ is the title of the work from Irish artist Shauna at Weston Wallz 2025. It is part of a wider series of works in her ‘Myths and Legends’ series. Queen Guinevere, she says, is forever tangled in the shadow of Arthur. Often reduced to a pawn in the myths of Camelot. She’s portrayed as a faithless wife, a damsel and an object. Guinevere says Shauna “rarely gets to speak for herself”. Now though in this work she has had enough.

She’s broken free from the old scripts and rewritten her own legend, no longer defined by kings or knights. She’s fled the confines of Avalon and stolen herself away to the twinkly seaside lights in Weston-super-Mare. She’s claimed her own heart.

Community Collaborations

Collaborations with the local community is always important at an event such as Weston Wallz 2025. Two artists Aumairah and Kid Crayon worked with groups of young people to inform and inspire their own pieces. The results are murals which tell a story of those collaborations. Both inspired by cultures. Aumairah’s focusing on personal background and Kid Crayon’s delving into street art and graffiti.

Aumairah

A work created together with young refugee people. It takes inspiration from discussions around native flowers and jewellery.

Kid Crayon
