Five Seconds of Summer Mural appears in London as part of Worldwide “Graffiti” campaign

A mural appearing recently in London has got fans of the Australian pop group Five Seconds of Summer all excited as it’s just one of a group of murals the band have been placing in locations around the World.

Situated just off Shoreditch High Street on the little through road known as New Inn Yard the mural is getting a fair amount of attention from fans of the band, many of whom were there getting selfies in front of it when Inspiring City visited.

By all accounts the murals have been mysteriously launched via social media with clues such as GPS co-ordinates. The stunt is all to do with raising awareness of course as the group has just launched it’s second studio album ‘Sounds Good, Feels Good’.

Not normally the sort of thing we cover, it is after all just an elaborate advert, it can’t be denied that there were a lot of happy kids who had made their way to try and find the mural for themselves. Indeed it was a reader of this very blog who alerted us to its presence and although the picture they gave us didn’t have too many identifiable markings, we eventually figured out the location for ourselves and she’ll be visiting today along with her excited five year daughter.

So here we are, a few pics of the London leg of the guerilla graffiti campaign from Five Seconds of Summer. It can be found on New Inn Yard just off Shoreditch High Street, get there soon though there’s no knowing how long it will last.

The mural was visited on Saturday 24 October 2015. The album ‘Sounds Good, Feels Good’ was released a few days before.   Update – 3 January 2016 the mural has since been painted over and can no longer be seen.
