A quite remarkable artistic extravaganza took place over the weekend with two massive art fairs taking over the Truman Brewery and a whole host of street artists taking over the walls of Brick Lane.
The Moniker Art Fair and the Other Art Fair occupied the top floor of the former brewery in order to showcase over 100 top artists many representing themselves and displaying their latest work. Punters were given the opportunity to speak to the artists direct, make contact and enjoy the art close up.
Meanwhile outside up and down the streets running off from Brick Lane, artists from Thailand, the USA, Greece and locals from the UK were adding their mark to the rich canvas of the area. No doubt attracted by the tremendous artistic focus honing in on the area, they wanted to get their slice of the action too.
I’ll detail some more of these works in later posts and a few pictures have been included here, but the main focus of the weekend was most certainly the fairs and the art on display. Just a quick post this because it’s all about the art so I hope you enjoy the pictures which give a good cross section of some of the art on show.

Meanwhile on the streets on and around Brick Lane, street artists of all nationalities were in action meaning that around every corner something cool was going on.
