Last weekend was good for spotting street art with a number of new pieces appearing.
On Hanbury Street, replacing the vandalised Mear One mural, French artists Bom.K and Liliwen were putting the final touches onto their replacement work whilst over on Rivington Street Jimmy C was in action painting his latest portrait which can be seen here.
Opposite the Bom.K piece, the Ben Slow ‘Queen of Spitalfields’ portrait has had a revamp and now looks to resemble a screaming man and something more sinister altogether. The new portrait also graces the cover of the ‘Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)’ magazine which can be found at http://www.thecalmzone.net and which is excellent. This issue has a number of special features and interviews with the likes of Ben Slow, Inkfetish and Stik as well as some good areas to spot street art.
So once again the Hanbury Street area of town gets a total makeover with a new collaboration between Malarky and Lucas also appearing.
