Klimt inspired street art at the Lazarides Gallery

So today I made it down to the Lazarides gallery on Rathbone place just off Oxford Street to take a look at the ‘street art’ exhibition inspired by the works of Gustav Klimt as part of a celebration of the 150th anniversary of his birth. The exhibition has been a collaboration with the Viennese tourist board and kicked off last week when nine artists got together in Grosvenor Gardens near Victoria station to begin the paintings. Now on display at the Lazarides they’ll stay there until 1st September when the exhibition ends. It’s worth seeing as there are works by the likes of Mode 2, Lucy McLaughlin, Shepard Fairey, Bastardilla, Ron English, Marlene Hausegger, Vhils and Christian Eisenberger and of course it’s free.
