I Am Not is a solo exhibition from conceptual artist Andy Link aka AK47. The artist is well known on the London urban scene. Often described as controversial he gained notoriety when he commandeered and re-purposed Banksy’s Drinker statue back in 2004. Only returning it complete with alterations in 2015. The Drinker subsequently became the Stinker and AK47 used it as the catalyst of his film ‘The Banksy Job’

AK stands for Art Kieda which according to Link is an underground movement of art terrorists. A conceptualist & a provocateur. He is known for his set piece stunts. Designed to unsettle the status quo of the modern art world. He has previously ‘borrowed’ and returned works by Tracy Emin and Damian Hirst. This, in addition to his previous and more famous acquisition of Banksy’s Drinker.

Link is known for controversy so that’s what we’ll be expecting here. His strap line for the exhibition is ‘a show of love and bullets’ which sounds like a very AK47 kind of combination. One things for sure it will be a show that won’t be pulling any punches.
I am Not is a solo exhibition from AK47 and will show at the Graffik Gallery, 284 Portobello Road, W10 5TE, from Thursday 3rd February 2022.
