The Spring Projects Launch ‘Big Dream’ as they plan to bring more hopes and smiles to the streets

Following on from the huge success of their ‘Next Best Thing’ campaign to find a street art star of the future. The Spring Projects are today going bigger and better with #BIGDREAM which hopes to shake up the streets and find an idea bound to raise a smile.

Open to all this is a different take on the concept of ‘street art’ and is a call out to creatives who want to make a difference to the streets of a town anywhere in the World. The only catch is that it needs to take place in a public space and it needs to bring dreams, hope and smiles to an area.

One inspiring idea will be chosen with the winner receiving a ticket anywhere in the World in order to create the project onto those very streets. Once there the project will be documented and recorded to share with everyone. It’s a real chance to turn an exciting idea into an exciting reality.

Commenting on the launch of #BIGDREAM, the Dutch Founder of the Spring Projects Bri Patty spoke about what it is about street related projects that she loves. “We believe in the beauty of an act of kindness as a start to change the world in our own little way. We do it via the streets, we do it to raise a smile and to inspire others to do the same. How many people can we make happy tomorrow if we make generosity part of our daily lives today.”

And that’s not all, in addition to the main prize, every week from 21st of March till the end of April, the Spring Projects Facebook page will reward one reader who shares any existing inspirational street art interventions that they might have come across. It could be a picture, blog or video, the person who shares the content that gets the most likes will win a “Spring Projects limited edition street style chocolate bar” with six bars up for grabs.

One of the bars, in true Willy Wonka style will have gold packaging and that person will also be invited on the trip of a lifetime to join the Spring Projects on location as the #BIGDREAM whatever and wherever it is, gets filmed.

Following the huge success of ‘The Next Best Thing’ which saw Argentina’s Fio Silva travel to Europe to embark on a high profile painting tour, we are big fans of what the Spring Projects are trying to do here on Inspiring City. Therefore if there’s an idea you have that can be put onto the streets that would raise a smile and the hopes of the people passing by, no matter where in the World that might be… then this is a unique opportunity.

#Bigdream launched on 21 March 2015 and applications will remain open until the end of April. The Spring Projects was founded by Dutch woman Bri Patty in January 2015. It’s aim is to bring ‘hopes and smiles to the streets’. It recently concluded an international search for street arts ‘Next Best Thing‘ and the #Bigdream represents the second major street art project they are sponsoring.
