Street artist couple Jana & JS have left their mark over the East End over the past few weeks. Normally based out of Salzburg in Austria the French and Austrian couple have left their stencil art all over the continent.
Normally a combination of portraiture with architecture the style is instantly recognisable. Keen photographers, the artists often include the camera within their work and seek inspiration from their photography. One famous piece on Redchurch Street which seems to have stood the test of time is a girl taking photographs of passers by, forcing people to take notice. Even with a stencil camera, when it’s thrust in your face, it’s hard not to notice.
The new work in London has taken in a number of popular spots and even included a short lived collaboration with Ben Slow. Each piece tells a story and the full extent of the wall and the surroundings have clearly been thought about prior to the placement of the work.
Jana and JS’s visits to London are always welcome and this time they’ve produced a mixture of more traditional stencil art, alongside stickers and paste ups all over the East End. These add to the few pieces remaining from their last visit which means there’s now plenty of art to see. Definetely worth a look if your in the area.

The girl with camera piece on Redchurch St is one of my favourite street art pieces in London. So cool it is still there, I always go and look at it when I am in the area.
Cool post.
