Saki and Bitches Street Art in London

Anyone wandering around the East End of late may well have noticed the rather colourful and scantily clad ladies popping up on walls around Shoreditch.

The product of artist ‘Saki & Bitches’ she has been preparing for a second solo show ‘The Orchid and the White Foxes‘ and the street pieces do serve as an appetiser to the main event.

Japanese Born but based in London, Saki’s ‘bitches’ are buxom and unapologetic. As described on the shows facebook page her trademark themes are ones of ‘hourglass harlots and enigmatic erotica’ using ‘hyper sexualised characters that flit between the walls of London’s Streets’.

The show describes itself as a ‘celebration of heritage and the power of a woman’s sexuality’ and I certainly look forward to seeing it. The street pieces are bold and dominant, commanding attention, a combination of their revealing nature and their bold use of lines and colours.

Alas my plans for seeing the show were curtailed today as it was closed in the afternoon when I went but not before I’d managed to document all the art I could find. So, rather than go home empty handed, here is the street art of Saki and her Bitches spotted around old Shoreditch town.
