Views of London from across the Thames
My favourite view of the city of London has to be the one from the footpath by Westferry Circus on the Isle of Dogs. Just a short walk from the towers of Canary Wharf the Thames at Westferry opens up an impressive Vista as the road looms over the river below with an impressive stairway then leading down to the walkway and river path.
It also happens to be where my local gym, the Virgin Active at Canary Wharf, is situated. The view from the swimming pool of that place has got to be one of the most impressive of anywhere in the world. In fact for any movie geeks out there, the self same pool was used in the latest James Bond movie, except that they superimposed a different skyline from somewhere in the far east which is where Daniel Craig was supposed to be swimming at the time. Clever eh?
But back to the views, they are majestic and capture the curve of the river as it makes its way past the city and St Pauls. At every time of year and every time of day its different which leaves one always impressed with the grandeur of what lies beyond.
